I sincerely congratulate you on Pharmaceutical Worker's Day of Ukraine!
This holiday unites everyone who has dedicated their lives to the extremely important work of providing the population of Ukraine with high-quality, safe, and effective medicinal products. It is thanks to your daily work that trust in the healthcare system is maintained and Ukrainian patients receive treatment in line with the best global practices.
Despite the challenges of war, Ukraine's pharmaceutical sector demonstrates resilience and strengthens its position in the international regulatory space. Through joint efforts, we are implementing strategic reforms that shape the future.
- For the first time in Ukraine, the international eCTD format has been introduced for the registration of medicinal products – an important European integration step toward the digitalization of the industry, which ensures transparency and promptness of procedures, continuity of the life cycle of medicinal products, and, most importantly, faster patient access to the necessary medicines. Under wartime conditions, we were able to implement this reform in record-short time and faster than other EU countries.
- The National Price Catalog has been created, which increases the transparency of pricing and the stability of medicine costs.
- For the first time in Ukraine, opportunities have emerged for clinical trials of advanced therapy products, opening the way for modern innovative biotechnologies.
- Modern standards and treatment protocols continue to be developed, including for combat trauma – in wartime this provides the national healthcare system with the tools necessary to save and preserve the lives of our military personnel and civilians.
- The continuous development of health technology assessment is under way, which promotes access of seriously ill patients to life-saving treatment.
- We are also systematically strengthening international cooperation, integrating into the European regulatory community. We are securing institutional partnership and the support of our European colleagues on the path of developing sector reforms.
- We are constantly learning, developing our own expert potential and also providing a platform for training and professional development of physicians and pharmacists.
And this is far from the full range of achievements that we have been able to accomplish together. The role of each of you is invaluable, because it is thanks to the unity and professionalism of the pharmaceutical community that we ensure the development of the sector and the strengthening of the nation's health.
On the occasion of the holiday, I wish everyone peace, goodness, good health, well-being and professional growth. May we all be united by a common goal – the future of domestic pharmacy and the Victory of Ukraine!
