We draw the attention of healthcare professionals: new standards of medical care and clinical guidelines in the field of “Obstetrics and Gynecology” have been added to the Register of Medical Technological Documents (MTD) of the Center: “Family Planning” (MoH order No. 1406 of 09.09.2025) https://www.dec.gov.ua/mtd/planuvannya-simyi/ and “Spontaneous Miscarriage (Spontaneous Abortion)” (MoH order No. 1400 of 08.09.2025) https://www.dec.gov.ua/…/spontannyj-vykyden-spontannyj…/

This is a methodological basis for general practitioners–family doctors, therapists, obstetrician-gynecologists, and other specialists for organizing and providing quality services in the context of problems of pregnancy loss, miscarriages, missed miscarriage, infertility, or prolonged absence of pregnancy, taking into account modern needs and approaches, as well as best international practices.

Doctors of various specialties should be aware of the main risk factors and clinical manifestations of spontaneous termination of pregnancy, and of the early diagnosis and treatment of miscarriages, in order to prevent complications that may pose a threat to a woman’s life.

Family planning services include providing information on a healthy lifestyle, prevention of unplanned pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), the use of modern contraceptive methods, and identification of patients from risk groups, taking into account gender equality and inclusion.

Special emphasis at the treatment stage is placed on involving geneticists and psychologists.

Methodological support and information provision during the preparation of the MTDs were carried out by specialists of the Center. “Together with the multidisciplinary team of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, we took into account the latest global scientific achievements and national developments in the field of reproductive health care. They will help practicing physicians ensure a unified approach to organizing medical care for families, which will contribute to preserving the health of women and children and improving the demographic situation in the country,” emphasized the Head of the Directorate for Standardization of Medical and Rehabilitation Care of the Center Oksana Hulenko.
