The purpose of the materials is to provide practical assistance to ethics commissions for improving self-assessment, internal procedures and enhancing the quality of ethical review.
The set includes:
- Self-assessment checklist for the work of the Ethics Commission;
- Checklist for conducting a meeting of the Ethics Commission;
- Checklist for preparing the annual report of the Ethics Commission.
The documents are advisory in nature, do not establish new regulatory requirements and may be applied taking into account the specifics of activities, internal procedures and organizational structure of the commissions.
The methodological materials were developed by specialists of the Department of Expert Evaluation of Preclinical and Clinical Trial Materials of the Center based on the results of an online meeting with members of ethics commissions held in March 2026 on the topic "Self-assessment of IEC work: tools and approaches to analyzing effectiveness and improving ethical review processes".
