The document establishes approaches to the organization of medical care, diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of treatment outcomes in patients with JIA.
It also expands the list of practical appendices that will be useful to physicians – disease classification criteria, tools for assessing physical function, recommendations on biological and non-pharmacological therapy, specifics of patient management (infection control, vaccination), etc.
The key emphasis is on early diagnosis, multidisciplinary management and timely treatment. The proposed modern therapy makes it possible to achieve disease remission and improve patients' quality of life.
The standard was developed on the basis of the evidence-based clinical guideline "JIA in children. Clinical features of the course, diagnosis and treatment", which is based on the principles of evidence-based medicine, taking into account current international recommendations https://surli.cc/avwgoo
Methodological and informational support during the development of the document was provided by specialists of the State Expert Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
For information
Juvenile rheumatoid (idiopathic) arthritis belongs to rare diseases. It combines groups of various chronic inflammatory joint lesions that occur in childhood and can lead to serious complications and disability. In Ukraine, about 2,5-3 thousand children live with this diagnosis, and every year doctors detect approximately 300-400 new cases.
The standard will help doctors apply modern approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of JIA, and help children with this disease receive timely and quality medical care.
