Representatives of the State Expert Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine took part in the international conference Cannabis Europa Paris 2026, which was held on 19 February 2026 in Paris.
The event brought together representatives of the medical and pharmaceutical community, regulators, manufacturers, and experts from various EU countries to discuss strategic decisions in the field of regulating access to medicinal products based on medical cannabis.
The key topic of discussion was the experience of France, which today is a leader in Europe in the use of medical cannabis in clinical practice and shared the results of the transition from a pilot program to full-scale implementation at the national level.
It was particularly valuable for our specialists to learn about the practices of integrating cannabis-based medicinal products into the EU healthcare system on a large scale, while maintaining strict requirements for their safety and quality.
The Ukrainian delegation included Deputy Directors of the SEC Olena Semenchenko and Mykhailo Pasichnyk, as well as the Head of the Department of International Cooperation, European Integration and Quality Assurance Olha Sadovnycha.
The knowledge gained will be directed towards strengthening Ukraine's regulatory policy in the field of circulation of medical cannabis. This is especially important today for the healthcare sector, which is operating under conditions of war, and for the subsequent post-war period. Strengthening regulatory mechanisms is intended to expand access for patients who need it to the necessary therapy.
The State Expert Center will continue to actively integrate international experience into national practice, strengthening Ukraine's healthcare system in line with European standards.
