From 30 August to 2 September 2026, the 84th World Congress of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) was held in Montreal (Canada) – one of the largest international professional events in the field of pharmacy.
This year's congress theme is "One Health, One Pharmacy – Bridging science, practice and education".
The State Expert Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine was represented at the congress by:
- Daria Pakhomova, Deputy Director;
- Mykhailo Pasichnyk, Deputy Director;
- Valeriia Sierikova, Head of the Department of Communication, International Cooperation and European Integration.
The congress programme covered a wide range of issues that today determine the development of the pharmaceutical sector worldwide. Among them:
- accessibility and pricing of medicinal products – finding a balance between patients' access to treatment, innovations and the capacities of healthcare systems;
- development of regulatory approaches – international harmonisation and interaction between the regulatory systems of different countries;
- digitalisation of the pharmaceutical sector – development of digital solutions and the use of artificial intelligence;
- partnership between the state, regulatory institutions, the professional community and patients.
Representatives of the Center took part in thematic sessions dedicated, in particular, to access to high-cost medicinal products, pricing, the development of regulatory approaches, international harmonisation and interaction between the various participants in the pharmaceutical system.
A separate part of the FIP Congress was the international exhibition, which presented companies, professional organisations, technologies and solutions for various areas of the pharmaceutical sector.
Participation in the FIP Congress allows the Center to remain in the current international professional context, to become acquainted with the approaches and practices of other countries and to maintain professional dialogue with the international pharmaceutical community.
