As part of the implementation of the Twinning project in Ukraine, another consultative online meeting was held with the participation of experts from Poland and Lithuania on the strategic direction "Development of internal policies". Specialists of the State Expert Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine joined the event.
The meeting, organized by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, is part of systematic work to prepare for the establishment of a new state control body in Ukraine and the introduction of European approaches in the field of state regulation of medicinal products and medical devices.
During the first in a series of meetings planned for April-May, work focused on the development of internal policies of the future SMC, in particular regarding:
- prevention of corruption and conflicts of interest
- interaction with external experts
- access to public information
- internal audit and control, etc.
Based on the results of the work, the preparation of a number of basic documents is planned, as well as recommendations for their implementation.
Participation in the Twinning project is an important tool for enhancing Ukraine's regulatory capacity and developing expert potential. This is a practical step towards creating a modern state control body in the pharmaceutical sector that will operate according to European standards of transparency, efficiency and integrity.
The SEC plans to start work already from the beginning of next year, so the preparatory processes are in an active phase.
We express our sincere gratitude to the experts of Poland and Lithuania for the experience provided, expert support and fruitful cooperation.
Let us recall that Twinning is an instrument of institutional cooperation with the European Union, which provides for the exchange of experience between state bodies of EU member states and Ukraine with the aim of implementing best European practices and developing a modern regulatory system in the pharmaceutical sector.
