By MoH order No. 1021 of 27 July 2026, the 18th edition of the State Formulary of Medicinal Products has been approved in Ukraine.
The document contains recommendations for physicians on the rational prescribing and use of medicinal products, taking into account their efficacy, safety and economic feasibility in the medicinal treatment of various diseases and conditions, as well as information on pharmacotherapeutic action, selection, prescribing, specifics of administration, rules for dispensing medicinal products, etc.
The Formulary contains 802 medicinal products, of which 107 are combination products.
It excludes medicinal products that were not registered in Ukraine as of 1.09.2025, as well as those that do not comply with the prescribing recommendations in the current international evidence base.
New medicinal products have been included taking into account data from primary, secondary and tertiary sources of scientific information and in accordance with the principles of evidence-based medicine.
The structure of the document complies with international requirements: it consists of general information, 21 section of the main part and 11 appendices.
The information support and preparation of the publication were carried out by specialists of the State Expert Center – the Division of the Medicinal Formulary and Analysis of Implementation of Medical Technologies of the Department of Standards in the Field of Healthcare and the Department of Pharmacovigilance.
During the preparation of the issue, the specialists of the SEC:
- amendments were made to the formulary articles in accordance with the instructions for medical use, dosages, adverse reactions and method of administration, in particular for pregnant women, women during lactation, children and the elderly;
- information on pharmaceutical care for doctors and patients was updated;
- for the first time – prices for daily doses of medicinal products were updated in accordance with the National Catalogue of Prices.
The State Formulary of Medicinal Products is an important document and is recommended for use in the work of doctors of all specialties, clinical pharmacologists, pharmacists, clinical pharmacists, healthcare system organizers, and in the training of students of higher medical and pharmaceutical educational institutions.
