14 June marks World Blood Donor Day. It is a day designed to remind us of the importance of donation and to express gratitude to people who regularly donate blood and help save lives.
This year, WHO information campaigns for Donor Day are held under the slogan: "One drop of humanity saves a life." They remind us that every donation matters, and donor blood remains a critically important resource for the healthcare system. It is needed for the treatment of wounded and injured patients, complex surgeries, treatment of oncological diseases, assistance during complicated childbirth and many other medical interventions. In wartime, the need for donor blood and its components is especially high.
The Center's team always actively participates in the donor movement. Regular Donor Days have already become part of the corporate culture. Among the employees of the Center there are more than 50 regular donors. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Center's employees have donated more than 130 liters of blood, which was directed to the needs of healthcare institutions and to saving wounded military personnel.
This week, another joint donation took place at the Ministry of Health of Ukraine in cooperation with the team of medical professionals from the Kyiv Regional Blood Center. Employees of the State Expert Center, led by Director Edem Adamanov, joined the good cause.
On World Blood Donor Day, we express our sincere gratitude to our colleagues and to all blood donors of Ukraine. It is thanks to your willingness to help that doctors are able every day to provide the necessary assistance to thousands of patients.
