By MoH of Ukraine order No. 1259 of 11.07.2023, the evidence-based clinical guideline and the standard of medical care “Congenital Hypothyroidism” were approved.

The multidisciplinary working group for developing the documents included specialists from the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Center of Endocrine Surgery, Transplantation of Endocrine Organs and Tissues of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the Okhmatdyt National Specialized Children's Hospital, the Institute of Children and Adolescents Health Care of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, the Department of Endocrinology of Vinnytsia National Pirogov Memorial Medical University, and others. Methodological support and information support were provided by specialists of the State Expert Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

The clinical guideline is based on the provisions of the European guideline ENDO Congenital Hypothyroidism: A 2020–2021 Consensus Guidelines Update, endorsed by the European Society for Paediatric Endocrinology and the European Society of Endocrinology as an example of best practice in providing medical care to children with congenital hypothyroidism.

The standard of medical care contains provisions, rationale, and mandatory and desirable criteria for the quality of medical care relating to the processes of neonatal screening, diagnosis and treatment of children with congenital hypothyroidism (CH), treatment monitoring and possible complications. It provides indicators of the quality of medical care.
