Why this is important for healthcare professionals
The protocol unifies approaches to diagnosis and treatment in accordance with international standards, defines algorithms for preventive therapy and management of complications, and contributes to improving the quality of medical care and interdisciplinary interaction.
Why this is important for patients
Hemophilia B is a rare hereditary disease caused by a deficiency of clotting factor IX (FIX). It manifests as spontaneous or prolonged bleeding, most often into joints and muscles, which can lead to arthropathy and disability.
Early diagnosis and regular prophylactic replacement therapy:
- reduce the risk of dangerous bleeding;
- prevent joint damage;
- reduce pain and disability;
- allow children to study and adults to work and lead an active life.
The protocol is aimed specifically at ensuring such systematic, long-term and modern care.
