International events of the World Health Organization dedicated to the development and implementation of artificial intelligence technologies in healthcare systems were held in Lisbon (Portuguese Republic).
Ukraine was represented by the digital team of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. From the State Expert Center, the Director of the Digital Transformation Department, Ihor Lysenko, joined its composition.
During 13–14 July, at the WHO interregional workshop, representatives of countries of the European region, international organizations and the expert community discussed practical approaches to implementing artificial intelligence-based solutions.
The focus was on the formation of national strategies for the development of AI in healthcare, governance and ethical aspects of the use of new technologies, digital literacy, cybersecurity, training of specialists and building trust in innovative solutions.
15–16 July, the WHO Interregional Conference "Artificial Intelligence in Health Care: From Principles to Practice" was held. It brought together representatives of state authorities, international organizations, the scientific community and technology companies.
Ihor Lysenko took part in the plenary discussion dedicated to building an ecosystem for the sustainable use of artificial intelligence in health care. The issues of workforce training, development of institutional capacity, the impact of technologies on the environment and the exchange of experience between countries were considered.
During the presentation, the representative of the Center shared Ukraine's experience in ensuring the resilience and continuous operation of digital health services under conditions of full-scale war.
Participation in WHO events makes it possible to exchange practical experience with international partners and to take into account modern global approaches to the safe and responsible implementation of artificial intelligence in the health care system of Ukraine.
