According to Mykhailo Babenko, the further development of health technology assessment is one of the important areas of the Center's activities. It makes it possible to effectively apply HTA results to develop regulatory lists of medicinal products and sector standards in the field of healthcare.
Oresta Piniazhko, Director of the Health Technology Assessment Department of the Center, spoke about the experience of cooperation with the European Network of Health Technology Assessment Agencies (EUnetHTA) and participation in joint projects in an interview for Pharma.net.
EUnetHTA was created for an effective and sustainable HTA network in the European Union. It ensures cooperation between participating countries to implement best HTA practices at the regional, European and national levels. Our Department has been an associate member of EUnetHTA since April 2019, and during this time we have managed to take part in 5 joint international assessments of medicinal products.
Currently, in addition to EUnetHTA, the State Expert Center actively cooperates with ISPOR, HTAi, INAHTA, and SAFEMed USAID. The Center’s HTA Department plans to continue participating in EUnetHTA joint assessments to develop expert skills.
In my opinion, our active cooperation with EUnetHTA and other international organizations will contribute to the recognition of the Department at both the national and international levels, to increased public trust in this area and to the further development of HTA in Ukraine,” – said Oresta Piniazhko.
