Attention of pediatric dentists – standards for the treatment of pulpitis of temporary and permanent immature teeth in children, as well as an evidence-based clinical guideline, have been approved.
The treatment standards “Therapy of the Pulp of Primary Teeth” (MoH of Ukraine Order No. 392-1 of 05.03.2025) and “Therapy of the Pulp of Permanent Immature Teeth” (MoH of Ukraine Order No. 392-2 of 05.03.2025) have been added to the Register of Medical Technological Documents of the Center. https://www.dec.gov.ua/mtd/terapiya-pulpy-tymchasovyh-ta-postijnyh-nesformovanyh-zubiv/ Methodological and informational support for the development of the documents was provided by specialists of the Department of Standardization of Medical Care of the Center.
The standards are based on the clinical guideline “Pulp Therapy for Primary and Immature Permanent Teeth”, developed and adapted to the Ukrainian healthcare system on the basis of the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) and other international sources.
The aim is to assist in the high-quality diagnosis of the pulp condition and in determining the indications, methods and therapeutic interventions for the treatment of pulpitis.
The main goal of therapy is to preserve the integrity and health of teeth and surrounding tissues by maintaining the vitality of the pulp of teeth affected by caries, traumatic injuries, or for other reasons. The provision of therapeutic and preventive dental care is described taking into account the age-related psychophysiological characteristics of the child. After the treatment, further dynamic follow-up of patients must be ensured, and parents/other legal representatives must be given information on the need for regular visits to the dentist and prevention of caries and its complications.
