The staff of the State Expert Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine express deep regret over the death of the outstanding scientist, head of the Center’s advisory and expert group on medicinal toxicology, Isaak TRAKHTENBERG.
Isaak Mykhailovych Trakhtenberh – Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences and Academician of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine – for almost 30 years was the permanent chair of the Center’s advisory and expert group on medicinal toxicology, an undisputed authority among colleagues, Ukrainian scientists, and the scientific community of the world.
The outstanding scientist made important discoveries in the fields of experimental toxicology, industrial hygiene, environmental health, and medicinal toxicology. He developed a number of recommendations that gained international recognition. He is the author of more than 500 scientific works, including 29 monographs, textbooks, and reference books.
Isaak Mykhailovych always actively and on principle defended his position at the Center's meetings. These were emotional, original speeches with quotations from prominent scientists and artists. He found intellectual and aesthetic satisfaction in his work and in communicating with colleagues, and even in dramatic events he was able to see positive moments.
This year Isaak Mykhailovych would have turned 100. But, sadly, today, January 27, 2023, the heart of the outstanding scientist stopped.
“On my own behalf and on behalf of the entire team of the Center, I express my sincere condolences to the family and friends, colleagues, students and all who knew Isaak Mykhailovych. His eternal memory will forever remain in our hearts, and his name in the history of the Center,” emphasized Center Director Mykhailo Babenko.
